When they become leather hard, I clean the edges and put the holes in them. This button design is put covered in the green to highlight the details. The excess glaze is wiped off before they are put through the bisque fire at cone 04 before I glaze them with a clear glaze and then I fire them again at cone 6. This process vitrifies the clay, which makes them strong, and makes the glaze colors vibrant and rich. These buttons are great for knitting, crocheting, or sewing.
